Wrestling Matches and Tea Parties

James has been having so much fun with Grandma Sue (Ba-due) and Grandpa Jim (Paw-Paw Jim)!  He and grandma have been having all kinds of tea parties....hot chocolate parties, chocolate milk, water, juice, whatever's around.  James just loves getting out grandma's old tea set and playing tea-party.  It's manly.
He then gets with grandpa for some hard core football style wrestling.  :)  they're wiped out...or at least grandpa is!  James seems to never run out of energy!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

The Quance Christmas this year was quite the event!  Santa and Mrs. Claus came for a visit, and they brought presents for each great-grandkid!  So many little kiddos and so much fun!

It's a Girl!!

We're having a girl!!  It was hard not having Steven there with me to find out, but we got to talk on the phone today, so that made it better.  We are very excited!  I secretly wanted a girl but had convinced myself that we were having a boy...so needless to say, I'm ecstatic!  After we cheered a bit on the phone, he said, "You know we're done, right?!"  hahaa!  maybe.....  :)

Everything looked good at the ultrasound except that her head seems to be measuring two weeks behind.  They scheduled me for a follow up ultrasound when I'm back from Indiana in January.  Saying prayers that everything is okay and our sweet baby girl will be healthy.

Fun on the Farm

We had a MOPS playdate at a local Savannah farm.  James and I had a great time!

Deployment Day

Steven deployed today.  It was really hard.  I cried all the way home.  We've been telling James that daddy's going away to work in Afghanistan for a really long time, but not sure how much he's understanding that.  So to help, we made a paper chain with a ring for each day Steven will be gone, each month a different color.  Hopefully that will help give a visual tool to help him understand.

We have a big year coming up and we're just praying these next nine months race by.  We'll be heading to Indiana for Christmas, coming back to GA for a month, then going back to IN to have our baby.  Steven won't be able to come back for the birth, so James and I are going to go be surrounded with the amazing love and support of our family.

Buzz Lightyear!

Trick or Treat!
James had a great time tonight!  He did a great job saying "Trick or Treat" and "Happy Halloween" at each door!  We're just soaking up all the fun daddy time we can before he leaves next week.

Baby #2

That's right.  We're having another baby!  Feeling blessed, excited and pretty scared.  We'll be having this baby when Steven is deployed, I'm due April 10th.  yikes.  there's no good timing in the Army, but maybe we could've thought this one through a bit more :)  Oh well.  I'm most likely going to travel to Ft. Wayne to have this baby there to get some extra help with James and some family suport.  We're still trying to figure out the details, but in the meantime, we're super excited!  We'll find out boy or girl a few weeks after Steven deploys.

Casing of the Colors Ceremony

Before deployment, each battalion has a formal ceremony to "case the colors."  This means the Battalion flag they fly at Ft. Stewart gets packed up to be taken with them to Afghanistan to fly over there.  It makes this upcoming deployment all too real.
