Fun Weekend

My parents came down for a visit this weekend, and we had such a great time. We kept the schedule full with a tasting at Beachaven Winery, Jazz on the Lawn, pumpkin carving and chili at Erin's house, little projects around the house, tour of Ft. Campbell, and great conversation. Thanks for making the trip Mom and Dad! Love you and can't wait to see you again at Christmas!

David's Baisc Training Graduation: July 25, 2008

Steven's brother, David Brenner, joined the Army this year, and these pictures are from his Infantry "Blue Cord" Ceremony and his Basic Training Graduation. He is also stationed here at Ft. Campbell! We are so proud of him and all of his accomplishments this year! Steven has not seen him since last Christmas, so it will be a happy reunion next month. Good Job Dave!

Update on Steven - Oct 22nd

Steven has now been deployed for almost 7 months! The time has honestly gone faster than we anticipated, but we're really looking forward to seeing each other next month. His EML (environmental morale leave) is scheduled for the end of November, and he'll be home for 18 days! It can't get here quick enough! If all goes as planned, we'll get in two holidays while he's home, Thanksgiving and his birthday, Dec 10th!
He is currently the Platoon Leader for 2nd PL, A co, 4BSTB, 4th Brigade in Afghanistan, Logar Province...if you can keep all of that straight. His days are full of missions, mission planning, briefs, guard duty, training, paperwork, and basically getting the bad guys (for lack of better terms). He has been successful and he is extremely proud of his men, their efforts, and their improvements. Please continue to keep him and all of the soldiers in your thoughts and prayers.

Volleyball Champs: Rossview Hawks

This is the Rossview High School Volleyball Team I've been coaching this year. We won our District Tourney on Oct 11th, and these pictures are from our Regional match last night. They fought hard and beat Wilson Central in a 5 game match! It was very exciting and we are so proud of them. They move on to the Sectional Tourney this Thursday, Oct 23rd for a chance to advance to Sub-State.
I've had so much fun coaching these young ladies. It has been great to find a place to coach...you know I could never be too far away from this sport! They have improved so much and I'm going to be so sad to see our 9 seniors graduate. I'm so proud of them!

October, 2008

Well, I finally did it....started a Blog. I hope this turns out to be a successful way to keep in touch with family and friends, share photos, keep you updated on Steven and his deployment, and stay connected across the miles.

A little history on the Fundingsland's:

We met in Sept, 2006 at UK where Steven was going to school and Jenae was coaching volleyball. We fell in love and were married May 27, 2007. From there we traveled to Ft. Benning, GA where Steven had 8 months of Infantry Officer Schools and Training. We then moved to our current location in Clarksville, TN...Fort Campbell! We're over halfway through Steven's deployment!! YAY!!

We bought our first home in January 2008, and we absolutely love it! Steven then deployed to Afghanistan on March 28th and he's scheduled to return home in early April, 2009. Please keep him and all those serving our country in your prayers.

After too many months of job searching and job-hopping I finally found one that I absolutely love! I work at the Trane Company in the Product Support Dept. and I coach a high school volleyball team! I have also been truly blessed with an amazing group of friends. All of our husbands are in the Army, and we are the REAL Army Wives...don't believe all the drama you see on the Lifetime show! :-)

More to come....
