It's GO time!  Finally, today is the day we get to meet our little girl!  It has been a wild ride.  After I went back to GA in January and had that follow-up ultrasound, I've been considered "high risk."  Elaine head was measuring small at the 20 week ultrasound, and when I had another one at 28 weeks, her head and belly/abdomen were both measuring small.  They sent me to see the paranatologist for weekly ultrasounds and basically got me all worked up about her size.
I came back to IN at 34 weeks and was seen by Dr. Raju, a doc Greg worked with and recommended, and he kept me in the high risk category too.  Anyway, one day before my due date he decided to induce me and the rest is history.  Elaine Ann is perfect and healthy.  Her head and belly are just fine and all that worry was for nothing!
I did feel incredibly blessed to be with my family during the birth and have mom, Anna and Sarah all there with me in the room.  Made a hard situation without Steven kinda fun and unique!
Everything went smoothly.  They gave me the induction drugs and they worked!  It was pretty rough before my epidural, contractions one minute long-one minute break, but then the good Doc brought in the juice and I was feeling...well....nothing!  :)  it was pretty amazing!  Elaine came after about 4 rounds of pushing and mom cut the cord. Steven got to hear her first cry via telephone and Dr. Raju pinched her cheeks!  It was a pretty great and amazing day!
Elaine Ann is named after her grandmothers:  Terry Elaine and Sue Ann
